Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications (NJUPT), selected in China's Double First Class Project for building world-class universities and disciplines, has made remarkable contributions to the founding and development of the People’s Republic of China. NJUPT is also one of the selected universities for prior development by Jiangsu Provincial Government. NJUPT is engineering-oriented with a focus on information technology, integrating such disciplines as science, engineering, economics, management, literature, education, art and law, and offers multi-layered educational programs leading to bachelor’s, master’s, and doctor’s degrees, as well as post-doctor’s positions. The university is located in Nanjing, a historically and culturally rich city, and owns four campuses, namely Xianlin campus, Sanpailou campus, Suojincun campus and Jiangning campus. NJUPT has 21 schools (departments, research centers, etc.) as well as an independent college (Tongda College of NJUPT).

Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, founded in 1931, is an independent pharmaceutical university in China. Its main campus lies in Shenyang City with a floor area of 1.435 million square meters and a gross area of 749 thousand square meters in total，including a floor area of 215 thousand square meters and a gross area of 179 thousand square meters in Shenyang District (Wenhua Road); a floor area of 16 thousand square meters and a gross area of 17 thousand square meters in Tiexi District; a floor of 1.203 million square meters and a gross area of 553 thousand square meters in Southern Campus (Benxi). At present, there are 3416 graduates including 461 doctoral candidates and 2955 master candidates, 8279 undergraduate students. There are 1121 faculty staff, including 145 full professors and 231 associate professors.

In recent years, combined with traditional advantages and long-term development needs, BIT has focused on the construction of “5+3” subject groups—“Efficient Damage and Protection” subject group, “New Materials Science and Technology” subject group, “Complex System Perception and Control” subject group, “Delivery Equipment and Manufacturing” subject group, “Information Science and Technology” subject group and “Characteristic Science” subject group, “Convergence Medical and Engineering” subject group, “Civil-military Integration and Innovation and Development” subject group, forming the overall construction layout of “leading advantageous engineering, promoting the integration of characteristic science, assisting linkage of fine liberal arts and interacting frontier cross-innovation”.

Zhejiang Chinese Medical University (ZCMU) is located near the south bank of Qiantang River, in the city of Hangzhou, a world-famous tourist resort known for its beautiful scenery and rich cultural heritage. ZCMU is a teaching and research-oriented university with Traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Chinese Materia Medica as its leading subjects. As a key university in Zhejiang Province, it is jointly constructed by the People’s Government of Zhejiang Province, the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China.

Henan Polytechnic University (HPU) was founded in 1909. It was the first mining college in China and the first higher education institution in Henan Province. Xi'an Jiaotong University, a national key university under the direct jurisdiction of the Ministry of Education, is one of the country's oldest institutions of higher learning. Founded in Shanghai in 1896 as Nanyang Public, it was renamed Jiaotong University in 1921. In 1956, at the direction of the State Council, the university was moved to Xi'an, and renamed Xi'an Jiaotong University (XJTU). As one of the country's national key universities, it was included in the first group of universities singled out for high priority development under the country's seventh and eighth five year plans. It was also included in the first group of universities to benefit from Project 211 and Project 985, with the goal of becoming a world class university. Under a plan adopted by the State Council in April, 2000, the original Xi'an Jiaotong University was merged with the Xi'an Medical University and the Shaanxi Institute of Finance and Economics to form the new Xi'an Jiaotong University.

Established in 1912 as “the Preparatory School for Further Study in Europe and America”，Henan University was then one of the three training bases for studying abroad in China. The school was the former provincial public education institution and located in the former site of 'Imperial Examination Center'. The year 1942 saw the founding of National Henan University, a comprehensive university that enjoyed profound academic strength and worldwide reputation, with faculties in humanities, science, engineering, agriculture, medicine and law. After the founding of the People's Republic of China in 1949, the University was modulated into Henan Normal College. 1984 witnessed the restoration of Henan University. In 2008, it became a co-construct university by Henan Province and Ministry of Education of China, a “Plan 111” construction university in 2016, and “Double First-Class” initiative university in 2017.
