Here we listed the most frequently asked questions recently regarding applications and study in China.
Q1: When can I go back to China to resume my study/work ?
A1: Recently China just issued that some foreign nationals who hold valid residence permits, including work permit, permit for family reunion and personal matters, may apply for visa for free at any Chinese embassy or consulate in these countries.
As the prevention and control of COVID-19 become a new normal, it is believed that the number of border opening contries will continue to rise soon. LUCAS International Team will follow up the latest policy of National immigration Administration and update timely.
Q2: What will happen if my residence permit/visa expired without any extension ?
A2: This year for international students who currently in China, all their residence permits are automatically extended two more months after the visa / residence permit expires considering the influence of COVID-19.
However, as international students, you should pay much to attention to that visa expiration is considered violation of Immigration Law and will lead to fines (RMB 500 a day, RMB 10,000 maximum). If you have ever violated the related rules or regulations, your application for China's universities will be affected.
We suggest you to go to your local immigration bureau to renew your residence permit at least 7 working days in advance.
Q3: Will China's universities open normally this year ? When can we go for study ?
A3: Most schools in China opens in September or October for Autumn Intake 2020.
For international students who currently stay in China, they can go to school for registration according to the dates stipulated on their admission notices while international students who are admitted for Sept. 2020 but staying at home countries will probably take classes online for the first semester and can come to China to continue their study when situation allows.
Q4: I have been admitted for Autumn Intake this year, but JW202 form still not issued, why ?
A4: For international students who are in China, universities are finalizing the arrangements for September intake, it is estimated that students will receive it before end of August.
While for international students who are out of China, due to the border is still closed, schools here are waiting for local government's notice. Once border opens, schools will assist on JW202 forms accordingly.
Admissions for Sept. 2020 still have vacancies !
