The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), founded in 1951, is a multi-disciplinary and national key university with economics, management, law, literature and science as its core academic areas of expertise. Since its foundation, UIBE has been steadfast in living up to its motto of "Erudition, Honesty, Endeavor and Perfection" through constant diligence and innovation.

At present, UIBE consists of 15 academic schools, a Graduate School, a campus in Israel for undergraduate studies in business administration, a Department of Physical Education and a Department of Culture and Art, offering over 1405 undergraduate courses, 875 postgraduate courses, and 109 doctoral courses.

In 1989, UIBE became the first university in China to have a Board of Trustees, with its members from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation (predecessor of the Ministry of Commerce), state-owned international trading companies, Chinese Customs, the Bank of China, the People's Insurance Company of China, and the Hong Kong Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Li Lanqing, the former Vice–Premier of the State Council, took the chair for its first session, and Ms. WU Yi, the former Vice-Premier of the State Council, chaired the Board for its second session.

UIBE plays a leading role in the development of international alliance with universities around the world. Currently, UIBE has established partnerships with over 160 overseas universities and international organizations.

The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE) is jointly-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Commerce and is at present the only economic university in China been granted with four International Accreditations as EQUIS, AASCB, CAMEA and AMBA. UIBE is competitive in the subjects such as international trade, international law, finance, business management and foreign languages, and the university has both Chinese and English instructional systems from the undergraduate to postgraduate levels, allowing UIBE to be one of the most important institutes for talents' training and scientific research on Chinese economic and business development.

The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE), situated near the Olympic Business Center of Beijing, was founded in 1951. UIBE is a national key university under the leadership of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Commerce, and is one of the first batch of universities to be included in "project 211", also participated in the "Double-First Class" initiative. 

UIBE pursues to be an outstanding national university and a prestigious international university with its distinct characteristics. UIBE has already become a multi-disciplinary university specialized in the fields of economics, management, liberal arts, law and science, and competitive in the subjects such as international trade, international law, finance, business management and foreign languages. UIBE is the first university in possession of both Chinese and English instructional systems at the undergraduate and postgraduate levels. At present, the university offers nearly 80 majors to overseas students of bachelor, master and doctoral study. Among them, 30 majors are offered entirely in English. 

UIBE has a total enrollment of around 16,000 full-time students including more than 2,500 international students from 160 countries. As always, UIBE students are widely welcomed by society for their sound professional knowledge and skills, strong linguistic ability, active thinking and rich practical experience. UIBE graduates have been mainly employed in government departments, multinational corporations, financial sectors, large-scale foreign trade corporations and commercial institutions stationed abroad. They are playing an important role in promoting global economy and social development.
